Questions we get asked
- What counts as a masked request?
- One request that went through the gateway or the extension and was scanned, whether or not anything was found to mask. Counts are metered per calendar month; the text itself is never stored, only the count.
- What does BYOK mean here?
- Bring your own key: you use your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini account and key. The gateway forwards the masked request with your key and never stores it. Your provider bill stays yours.
- What happens when the free cap is reached?
- Sends are blocked, not passed through. The extension holds the chat and the console shows the limit; nothing leaves unmasked. The count resets on the first of the month, or immediately on upgrade.
- Is there a per-seat price?
- No. Members are unlimited on every plan; the meter is masked requests, not people.
- Can I run it myself?
- Yes. The gateway ships as a container image, and a self-hosted deployment meters nothing. The enterprise track is for teams that want us to help scope a VPC or air-gapped evaluation.
